Artist Awarded OBE In King’s Birthday Honours List
Huge congratulations to brilliant UK artist Tom Yendell for the well-deserved OBE he was awarded in the King’s Birthday Honours List 2025, for services to young people with disabilities.

Tom has been part of the MFPA family for nearly 40 years. A prolific creator of colourful, bold graphic works of art, he has also been a passionate advocate for inclusion, education and the power of creativity.
His volunteering journey began when he was just 19 years old, working with young people with disabilities, while studying at Hastings. Ever since, Tom has dedicated a big part of his life championing opportunities for others, from leading PHAB (Physically Handicapped and Able-Bodied) clubs while at Brighton University, to chairing the Treloar College Former Pupils Association for over four decades.
But Tom’s work with young disabled people has not only been restricted to these shores. Since 2007, his inspirational contribution to The Education and Book Appeal Ghana (TEABAG Charity) has helped deaf students there to access invaluable vocational training, including at a college he founded in 2014.
Tom said he was “extremely honoured” to receive this recognition – and for us members of the MFPA community – we could not be prouder.
